A section of Makueni Members of County Assembly (MCAs) has threatened to impeach governor Kivutha Kibwana over his repeated attacks on Wiper party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
Led by Kilungu MCA Patrick Mbevi and Wiper nominated MCA Magdalena Mulwa, the ward reps rubbished Kibwana's claims that Kalonzo has been using some leaders in the county to frustrate his leadership.
The duo asked the governor to concentrate on serving the people of Makueni and stop picking unnecessary fights with Kalonzo or face the music.
“The people of Makueni elected you to serve them as their governor and if you have no more interest serving as a governor please quit and go concentrate with your presidential ambitions instead of blaming Kalonzo for your incompetence,” Mulwa said on Friday.
Mbevi on his part threatened to sponsor an impeachment motion against the governor should he carry on with this unnecessary attacks on the Wiper party leader.
On Thursday, Kibwana said Kalonzo should retire from active politics and support another candidate from the region accusing him of failing to deliver the presidency to the Kamba people hence need to pave way for new blood.
"Kalonzo is rejected even in his home place, Machakos don't want him, we have been the only people behind him unconditionally and we won't accept to be taken for granted," he said.
