Led by Adan Gamadid, the elders fired a series of salvos at Aden Duale for what they claimed as unnecessary interference in the county's activities by linking Korane to the shooting of Idris Muktar.

Gamadid said that the Garissa Township MP was sponsoring negative and incorrect media coverage against the governor Korane.

“We want to state without any fears of contradiction that it is one Aden Duale who is behind all the governor's woes. He has made it very difficult for the governor Ali Korane to rightfully discharge his duties. This is very hypocritical of him to now start opposing him and peddling falsehoods when he was among those campaigning for him in the last elections,” Gamadid said on Thursday in Garissa Town while defending the governor in the alleged shooting.

However, Sultan Dekow Maalim Sambul has denied the allegations saying Duale was in good terms with the governor.
