An outspoken Member of Parliament from Central Kenya has joined the list of politicians and activists demanding the demolition of Deputy President William Ruto's Weston Hotel.
Nyeri Town legislator Ngunjiri Wambugu wants the multi-million property situated on Nairobi's Lang'ata Road to be brought down since it is sitting on a 'stolen' public land.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the vocal MP also claimed the hotel was posing danger to aircrafts using Wilson airport since it was on the flight path
"Not doing so (demolishing) sends the wrong message and sets a bad precedent in the fight against impunity," he said.
Wambugu made the remarks a few days after Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi's business premises near Nyayo National Stadium were demolished for reportedly being on railway line reserve.
He said just like Wamatangi's car bazaar was brought down, Ruto’s classic hotel must also be dealt with accordingly.
"It’s double standards considering we put down houses put up by other Kenyans in similar arrangements," the Nyeri Town legislator added.
Similar sentiments were echoed on Tuesday by Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo who asked the government not to spare Ruto but ambush him as it did to the Kiambu Senator.
"Now that Wamatangi has been visited (by 'SANY'), I think we should see it move up similarly so that we can see Weston visited as Wamatangi has been visited," Amollo said during an interview on NTV.
