A section of Gusii politicians have reacted after President Uhuru Kenyatta met  Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i  at State House Nairobi, days after the Head of State toured Kisii County to commission development projects.

Led by a former MCA hopeful Thomas Nyamote, the leaders said Matiang'i's numerous visits to State House may yield good fruits for the Gusii community. 

"Matiang'i has been visits to State House may end up seeing him getting endorsement for the country's top seat. Gusii community leaders should consider backing Matiang'i so that he can perform well in his new roles after the promotion," he said. 

He said Matiang'i is proving to be more powerful than any other Cabinet secretaries who rarely visits State House. 

Tabaka ward MCA Daniel Apepo said Matiang'i's hard work will continue building the Gusii community's name. 

"As leaders we should drop differences and support Matiang'i. His visit to State House shows that the Head of State trusts him not forgetting Matiang'i was among the top Gusii leaders who welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta in Kisii County last week," said the jubilee elected MCA. 

Matiang'i was at State House where he led the National Celebrations Committee to prepare for Madaraka day celebrations to be celebrated in Narok county.
