Following the shooting of former CEC for finance and economic planning for Garissa county Idris Aden Muktar, a section of Garissa residents have expressed their shock at the incident.

Idris, who is the son of a Garissa teacher college principal, was shot in the head by suspected assassins at Kileleshwa area, Nairobi, last night. 

He was leaving a mosque to his home when a fired bullet struck in his head, leaving him almost dead. 

Majority of those who reacted to the horror incident condemned it, and called for thorough investigation to establish those who involved and their immediate prosecution. 

These are some of the reactions by the residents. 

"Personally, am shocked by the incident that happened to our innocent brother. May God torment the culprits for shedding hallowed blood," says Ahmed Muhumed.

Yussuf Khalif, barber, said, " My brother Idriss did not deserve the heinous act he was subjected to. Since we read a mischief in his shooting, the relevant investigative authorities should come in and put to an end the different theories surrounding the shooting."

Amina Hamdi said: " The attempted assassination of the former CEC reveals the effects of playing bad politics. If the man has wronged anybody, he or she should come out and inform him face to face instead of shedding blood."

Abdinasir Abdullahi, a lecturer, said: "Really, I am perturbed by the shooting of my brother and schoolmate. May the assassins be brought into books for actions."

The victim is currently recuperating at a Nairobi hospital.
