Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly asked Isaac Ruto to help in uniting polarised Rift Valley region ahead of 2022 polls, an insider has said.
The two were pictured sharing insights after a rally at Siongiroi Girls High School in Bomet on Sunday, their first ever official meeting together.
"They had some minutes alone and discussed quite a number of issues but the most important is Rift Valley unity. He wants Isaac to invest his time to bring people together.
"One of the agreements before the meeting was that Isaac will reach out to all leaders and mobilise them behind the DP. We are optimistic that it will work," he said.
During the Bomet rally, several South Rift leaders among them six MPs, Dr Julius Kones, Eng Peter Mosonek attended and vowed to support Ruto.
At the event, Ruto also hinted Mr Isaac Ruto's roles in his campaign team even as reports leaked that the latter will be appointed to cabinet.
"I will be traversing elsewhere so let Isaac take control over this place. I expect him to reach out to those rebels," he said.
