A section of elders from Garissa County have claimed that Garissa Township MP and Majority Leader Aden Barre Duale wants the governor behind the shooting of CEC Muktar Idris remanded in Kamiti Maximum Prison.
Going by recent utterances by the MP and elders from his Abduwak Clan, Governor Bunow Korane might soon find himself in the worst of places.
The high profile shooting elicited mixed reactions with local politicians linking the incident to 2022 succession politics in the northeastern county of Garissa.
Even as allegations remain largely inclined to a petition challenging the legitimacy of the governor's credentials, a section of elders drawn from the governor's camp have linked the issue to 2022 gubernatorial politics.
Led by Aden Gamadid, the elders say Korane's woes are a creation of Aden Duale who is alleged to be eyeing for the seat in the next general elections.
Despite the fact that Duale has never gone public as to which seat he will be vying, recent speculations indicate that the Township MP is warming up the ground way ahead before time.
It is just a matter of time before the truth surrounding the mysterious shooting emerges.
If the governor is found to have played role in the incident, then the law will take its course and incidentally, he may lose his seat.
