Eighteen people have been admitted at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town after they were involved in an accident along the Eldoret-Webuye highway on Sunday.
The accident involved two Eldoret shuttles at Maili Tisa, an area that is prone to accidents.
According to eyewitnesses, the two shuttles collided head-on.
"This place has become a blackspot, I ask the Kenya National Highways Authority to erect bumps to avert more loss of lives, " said a bodaboda operator at the area, Simeon Kirwaas quoted by Nation.
Eldoret West Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Zachary Bitok confirmed the incident saying investigations into the cause of the accident have been launched.
For those admitted, the MTRH Chief Executive Officer Dr Wilson Aruasa said 14 have soft tissue injuries and in stable condition due to be discharged.
"Four of the victims with serious injuries have been admitted," noted Dr Aruasa.
