Before the meeting, Raila had reportedly met President Uhuru Kenyatta for discussion about the Building Bridges initiative.

And in the meeting, which was also attended by Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi, the ODM boss laid strategies on how to stamp authority in the region.

"They met for about three hours and discussed matters Coastal politics.

"Of course Ruto's infiltration was the main agenda. They will roll out massive activities including meetings with local ODM leaders to revamp the party," said one of Joho's aides.

Also, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who has been leading ODM troops in Ruto's camp is said to have been denied audience by the ODM leader.

Party Treasurer Timothy Bosire dismissed politic angle of the meeting saying the two leaders can meet over personal matters.
