A graduate was killed on Thursday after he confessed that he was among a gang of four that stormed Litein home where they killed one person and raped four girls.
The attackers killed a 73-year-old woman and raped her three granddaughters and a househelp.On Thursday, it emerged that one of the killers was a Maseno University graduate.
Witnesses said he turned up at the home of the victims and confessed committing the heinous act.
The graduate was identified as Sylvester Langat, 24, who graduated with the Maseno University School of Education class of 2018.
“He showed up at the home at 6 am and confessed being among the four,” Caleb Kirui said.
Villagers grilled him over the murder before stoning him to death.
“He said he only raped the girls but did not kill the granny. Angry residents lynched him,” Kirui added.
Kericho County Police Commander James Mugera confirmed the incident.
“The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime. Unfortunately, by the time police officers arrived at the scene, they had lynched him,” he said.
