A 14-year-old boy died a painful death at the hands of a heartless killer on Saturday night.
According to Kasisit village residents, the boy had been sent to a shop at around 8pm when he came face to face with the killer.
In a murder most brutal, the boy's body was later found with the head chopped off, eyes gouged out, and face skinned.
Residents said the murder had 'all the signs of a cult'.
"This was a painful death for the innocent boy. It is a murder with all the signs of a cult and witchcraft," Cheruiyot Kagongo said.
Police on Sunday arrested suspects in connection with the heinous act.
Baringo Police Commander Robinson Ndiwa confirmed the arrests.
"We have about six suspects in custody. Investigations are continuing and we shall get to the root of the matter," Ndiwa said.
In an interview, a family member said that a relative was arrested, and is considered one of the key suspects.
"Wananchi were led to his house by blood drops. They found a machete with blood as well as clothes. He is lucky he was rescued by the police," the family member said.
The deceased was a Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidate at Kasesya primary school.
