President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday awarded Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja with the Presidential Award Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear.

This was a recognition for Mr Sakaja’s nonstop role in legistlation for the last years. 

The precious award was presented to him by National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi. 

Taking to his social media account, Sakaja shared details of the award.

“I’m honored and humbled to have received the award of Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear as a recognition of my legislative work over the last 6 years. I’m encouraged to do more and keep doing my best in service to my people and my country,” he said

This is the second highest category of award. It is equally divided into three sub-categories which include; Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (C.B.S.), Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (E.B.S.) and Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (M.B.S.).

In other news, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi also received the Chief of Order of the Burning Spear award. 

Senator Moi also announced the honours from the state through a statement in social media, thanking the president for the recognition.

"I am delighted today for having been conferred the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear Award insignia at the Parliament of Kenya. I am grateful to The President and the entire Leadership of the Parliament for the recognition of my legislative and philanthropic work. God Bless Kenya," he wrote on Facebook.
