Empowering Africa Through Media wanted to be enjoined in the murder case facing journalist Jacque Maribe.

However, Catherine Mwaniki, appearing for the state, called the attention of Justice James Wakiaga terming the NGO as a ‘stranger in the matter’.

The state said the NGO had not filed an application to be enjoined in the matter and only filed an affidavit.

Mwaniki said the ‘stranger’ was not appearing for the state, victims under the victims' protection act and neither the 1st or 2nd accused.

The NGO had said that they would appear for the second accused.

“The second accused is a media personality and therefore the NGO would want to be enjoined in the proceedings,” the NGO said through its lawyer.

Justice Wakiaga ruled that the NGO had not followed the right procedure and therefore knocked the NGO out of the case.
