Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri and his Kapsaret counterpart Oscar Sudi on Sunday apologised publicly to President Uhuru Kenyatta over their recent onslaught against the Head of State.
Mr Ngunjiri and Sudi have been vocal against ongoing fight against corruption and have often linked it to 2022 succession politics. At some point, Ngunjiri insisted that Uhuru has a lot to thank for Ruto on his victory.
In a video making rounds on social media, the two are seen jointly apologising to Uhuru, adding that their onslaught is due to the tension that Uhuru could abandon Ruto for Raila.
"Sudi and I love the president. At times we attack him but we have nothing against him. We are his children and we are sorry for that," said Ngunjiri, who is seen inviting Sudi to the podium.
He continues: "Our main fear is that he might dump Ruto. That's what we don't want to happen. In fact, we shall look for him next week Tuesday. We really want him to stick with Ruto."
While Uhuru promised to back Ruto's 2022 bid, he has lately seemed to change tune. At a function in Nyeri last year, Uhuru warned that his 2022 choice could shock many people.
Vicious fight has been manifestated within Jubilee party with Dr Ruto's team accusing Uhuru and Raila Odinga of plotting against him. Sudi has often accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of also being corrupt.
Recently, Uhuru told off the second term legilator, accusing him of spreading gossip. Particularly, he asked him to report any wrong doing to DCI offices for an action to be taken.
