President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have mourned the death of prominent lawyer and businessman Karanja Kabage who died on Friday.
Kabage passed on in a tragic road accident in Karen, Nairobi while driving to his home.
The corporate and legal giant was driving himself when the grisly road carnage occurred, according to family sources.
In his message of condolence, President Kenyatta described Kabage as a resourceful lawyer who was ready to help all those who sought his legal aid.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence to the family, friends, and relatives of lawyer, politician and businessman Karanja Kabage. The President described the late Kabage as a resourceful person who was always ready to offer legal aid to those who sought his help," read a statement from the State House Kenya Twitter handle.
On his part, Raila said he was shocked and sad following the demise of the advocate who was also a politician.
"It is with shock and sadness that I have received news of the untimely demise of lawyer, politician and businessman Karanja Kabage, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. May God grant them strength at this trying moment and may his soul rest in eternal peace," the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM)" party leader tweeted.
Former presidential candidate Dr Ekuru Aukot said Kabage, famously known as KK, was his friend and termed him as a true patriot.
"What a sad day today is. I mourn my friend and former business partner, Karanja Kabage (KK). My condolences to the entire KK family. May your soul rest in eternal peace KK. Fare thee well my friend until we meet again," he said.
"KK had a great passion to change our country. We have lost a true patriot and a man who believed in a new Kenya," the Thirdway Alliance boss added.
