A court has granted bail to the two suspects, Juliet Charity Njoki and Mohamud Aden Hussein, in the attempted murder case of former Garissa County Finance CEC Idriss Muhktar.

Chief Magistrate Andayi in granting the Sh500,000 bail that has been long in coming contended that the two suspects did not pose any threat to the witnesses.

Muhktar's family had strongly opposed the granting of the bail application, saying that it would endanger them.

The former Garissa County staff member was shot with lethal intent allegedly by hired assassins.

He was flown out of the country for further treatment with a bullet still lodged in his head.

His lawyer says that he is still unconscious.
