There was drama in Lela on Wednesday evening, when a man was caught having intercourse with a cow by the streamside in a bush.
The man identified as Japheth Maende reportedly had sex with the cow while he left other cattle grazing in the field nearby.
The villagers noted that he picked the fattest cow in the herd, and adventured with it deep into the bush.
"I was passing by the stream when I heard a cow groaning. This drew my attention, and I decided to confirm what exactly was happening in the bush. To my surprise, I found Japheth, a cowboy,in the act with a fat cow,"noted Beatrice Akinyi, Japheth's fellow village mate.
The incident was reported to the owner of the herd, who got angry, and beat up Japheth thoroughly for his sins.
The crowd nearby shunned Japheth's evil actions, and requested justice from the area assistant chief.
Area assistant chief, Tobias Njae, demanded a fine from Japheth and asked the Maseno police to arrest him.
"Japheth defiled the animal, such an action cannot go unpunished, therefore he will pay a fine of Sh 15,000 to the owner of the cow, Mr Nyandae Odima.He will also spend some nights in the police cells in order to learn his lessons," said the assistant chief.
