A woman shocked villagers of Mwanyaberi in Monyerero, Marani, Kisii County after she eloped with her neighbour's son.
Locals claimed Gladys Kerubo abandoned her 9 children and husband for a neighbour's son identified as George, a Boda boda rider aged 22 years.
"Kerubo moved to live with George at his single roomed rented house at Nyagesai area on grounds that her husband Kennedy Bosire is irresponsible and never satisfies her in bed," said a local Magdalene Nyanchoka.
Andrew Okako, an elder condemned Kerubo saying she must go back to her husband and take care of her 9 children.
"As elders, we have already agreed to have the woman return back to her husband. We won't allow her to continue staying with her new catch man who we suspect she used concoction to lure him," said Okako.
Area local administrator Tom Mariera expressed his disappointment following Kerubo's move to elope with a young man yet she has a family to look after.
"Women abandoning their children and husband to get married to other men will not know peace in my area. Kerubo must return to her previous marriage," he maintained.
Mr. Mariera warned Boda boda riders against seducing married women.
