A 68-year-old man, a grandfather, shocked villagers of Nyangweta in Etago, South Mugirango in Kisii County when he lured a disabled girl to his house and engaged in illicit sex with her on Monday evening.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief David Ogiri said the suspect Christopher Mirera was caught doing the heinous act to the girl by the girl's mother who raised alarm.
"Mirera has been living alone since his wife died 2 years ago. He lured the girl who is deaf to his house where he was busted doing sex with her," said Ogiri.
Mr. Ogiri said residents responded quickly to the alarm, apprehended the suspect, beat him before they surrendered him to his office.
"Ogiri was brought to my office bleeding. He confessed that he was tempted by evil to have sex with the disabled girl and pleaded for forgiveness but, no one could listen to him," said the chief.
He said he surrendered the suspect to Etago police station from where he will be taken to court.
The chief warned men to stop engaging in sex with young girls saying the law won't spare them adding that widowers should re-marry to avoid chasing young girls for sex.
