Trouble started when the MP while addressing locals claimed that the ongoing road construction projects were initiated by him and not the former MP John Opore.

The PDP Party elected MP accused the former MP of going around the constituency taking credit for the ongoing projects.

"I want to remind Mr Opore that I am the MP in Bonchari until 2022, therefore, I urge him to keep off the constituency and give me humble time to continue developing Bonchari. The ongoing road projects I initiated will end soon for locals to enjoy eased transport," said Oyioka.

However, angry locals shouted at the MP terming him a liar.

The locals started chanting anti-Oyioka songs forcing the MP to cut short his speech and flee for his safety.

"We will not waste time listening to your lies. The ongoing road projects were initiated during Opore's regime and you need to respect Opore," one of the residents angrily said as  Oyioka must go! Oyioka must go! chants filled the air.
