Following the upholding of the Wajir gubernatorial election petition by Supreme Court on Friday, Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has claimed the ruling was made after some judges were bribed to favour of the petitioner.
Ahmednasir stated that corruption is single sourced and that the four Supreme Court Judges who ruled in favour of the petitioner, did not allow competition and openness in 'receiving' other parties 'bribery' bid.
"The problem with corruption in the Kenyan supreme court as aptly shown by the judgment of Wajir gubernatorial petition is that corruption is single sourced and is not open and competitive," tweeted Ahmednasir.
Ahmednasir was representing the former Wajir Governor in the petition that saw legal minds battle out with the Chief Justice David Kenani Maraga and Justice Isaac Lenaola dissenting while other four Judges held the view of upholding the election victory.
"My client was not invited to put his bid and some judges took money from only one party at David Kenani Maraga," added the SC.
Ahmednasir has vowed to expose those judges who allegedly took bribes on Monday.
He has promised to write a confidential letter to the Chief Justice over the same which will put the conduct of the Supreme Court judges into question which also implicates a member of parliament.
"On Monday I will write a confidential letter to the CJ and disclose to him which judges were bribed and how much money they got and by whom...one of the judges was bribed through a member of parliament and the money taken from the Branch of a local bank in Eastleigh," wrote the advocate.
