Despite all these, some social networks may fail to impress the intended clients while others pick up smoothly.
A new social media application, 'Eskimi' is currently taking most youths in Eldoret town by storm especially students in universities and college.
Eskimi is described as a social network application where people chat and have fun.
It is through this new social media platform that many youths interact, makes fun and friendship.
Allan Wafula, a regular user of the platform says he has made over thirty new friends from Eldoret town, with ten of them having met face to face.
"Eskimi is the best social network we currently have. The good thing about it is that it connects you with ladies of your age and those within the city you registered under," he said.
Millicent Moraa, a second-year student at the University of Eldoret admits that she had found a new friend and a lover thanks to Eskimi.
"I remember some months ago, I was lonely and needed a boyfriend but after being introduced by a friend of mine to Eskimi, I now have a friend and probably the love of my life," she narrated.
It now remains to be seen whether this new social network stands out to compete with other platforms in the ever-growing social media platforms.
