In the photo, the student who secured a chance at the university's Kikuyu campus was seen in a company of his mother and dad, where his father is seen helping him push the bicycle carrying his luggage and his mother following closely with a bag from behind.

The first-year student's photo that quickly went viral on social media attracted several reactions from KOT.

“I hope he will concentrate on his studies avoid corrupt groups and make his parents proud,” Liz Jewel said in her comment.

“Humbled. May God light up his paths and bless the parents,” Hannington Muchera said.

In last year’s general election, a 24-year-old John Mwirigi who used his bicycle to campaign won the Igembe South parliamentary seat after defeating Joseph Miriti of Jubilee party.

The 24-year old Mwirigi then became the youngest Member of Parliament in Kenya without a classy life but a dream and goal to serve Igembe South people.

“We decided to elect him. He had no money for campaigns but he offered good pledges and his manifesto was good,” Igembe south residents said.
