Nandi Senator Kiprotich Cherargei has asked Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe to publicly apologize to the Deputy President William Ruto.
This follows Murathe's utterances that the Kikuyu community does not have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with anyone ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Thursday, Cherargei, a close ally of DP Ruto said Murathe's utterances were ill intended and meant to demean the Deputy President.
"You cannot use threats, intimidations, and blackmail by attacking the Deputy President for you to be politically relevant. I want you to come out and apologize to the DP and Kenyans at large,” said the lawmaker
Cherargei further termed Murathe as a political broker noting that his utterances do not carry any water.
“Murathe’s utterances neither represents that of the party nor that of Kenyans. It is just his own opinion. His aim is to bring political anxiety in the country,” noted the youthful Senator.
The Jubilee Party Vice Chairman who is also believed to be a close confidant of President Uhuru Kenyatta made the remarks on Sunday during the 39th Maragoli cultural celebrations in Vihiga County.
