Having been raised from poor backgrounds, the two renowned Kenyan gospel artists rise to the national level cannot be ignored.

However, the two of them were absent during the 2017 Groove Awards, unlike previous Awards which left their fans in shock.

During this ceremony, comedian Chipukeezy who was present made a joke which left many in stitches.

"Willy Paul and Bahati are my friends, you know they do the same things but differently. They both adopt children. Bahati has mastered the art of adopting so much until he is now adopting his own biological children. But you see, Bahati adopts children between 3 and 16 years, 'watoto' (children). Willy Paul, on the other hand, is adopting children between ages 18 to 25 years, 'watootoo' (sheng word for ladies),” said Chipukeezy while on stage.

Interestingly, Willy Paul has appeared in this year’s Groove Awards 2018 his song “jigi jigi” being nominated as video of the year.
