The political rivalry between the self-proclaimed hustler from Sugoi village, Turbo constituency in Uasin Gishu Deputy President William Ruto and retired president Moi‘s son and KANU chairman Gideon Moi continue to take shape in the Rift Valley region four years before the 2022 presidential race.
The two sons from the same political region are eying the country’s top seat and each is determined to win the supremacy battle in the Rift Valley region and eventually in the whole country.
Here is a list of veteran politicians who can help the Baringo Senator to send DP Ruto home in 2022 general elections;
President Uhuru Kenyatta
President Uhuru Kenyatta has always avoided the question of whether he will endorse his Deputy for the coming presidential race as he promised earlier. Uhuru is a strong opinion maker from the Central region and if he opts for Senator Moi, then Ruto will easily lose to him in the presidential race.
Raila Odinga
Odinga is undoubtedly a frontrunner in the upcoming presidential race. He has however not declared whether he will be going for the top seat once again or not. If Senator Moi and KANU party will be able to convince the ODM leader to support their presidential quest, then it will increase their chances of victory against DP Ruto who is likely to vie on a Jubilee party ticket.
Musalia Mudavadi
The Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader has already expressed his interest to work with the Baringo Senator. However, Mudavadi's support to Senator Moi will be of less importance if he will not be able to win the full support of the Western region. Moi-Mudavadi union will send DP Ruto home only if the 2013 presidential candidate will be able to deliver the maximum number of votes from the Western region.
