Exactly a week after pitching tent in Nyamira and Kisii Counties, Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday returns to the populous Gusii region as 2022 campaigns take shape.
Last week, Ruto commissioned Kemera-Kiendege-Gachuba-Girango-Keumbu road in Nyamira after which he presided over a fundraiser at Nyabururu Parish in the neighbouring Kisii County.
Earlier in the same day, Ruto traversed Migori County along with embattled governor Okoth Obado, just five days after he had left the county.
And on Saturday, Ruto is expected to pitch tent at Bobasi constituency where he will fund raise for 17 Seventh Day Adventist churches from the region.
Area MP Innocent Obiri, Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi are expected to host him.
In preparation for the grand return, a section of Gusii leaders among them Maangi, Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira) and Mr Mose joined Ruto in Uasin Gishu during the burial of Paul Kibet, the father to Ruto's aide Farouk Kibet.
For a decade, the populous Gusii region has voted for ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is yet to declare his candidature in 2022 polls.
