Gospel artist Willy Paul has been a man causing controversy for a very long time. Recently a video of him sensually 'grinding' a lady at Saumu Mbuvi's night club in Westlands has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans.
In the video ladies dressed in miniskirts are seen seductively dancing to the musician song as he performs. Netizens took on Twitter to react to it.
Some actually supported what Willy Paul is doing with the self-proclaimed Boychild president Cyprian Nyakundi saying he did not take anyone's gold and is fully representing the boychild.
"KOT, stop roasting Willy Paul, he fully represented BoyChild well. He has our full support. I want to categorically state that he didn't take anyone's Gold. Let him enjoy. Willy usijitie kitanzi, hivo hivo," said Cyprian Nyakundi.
Wycliffe Choge argued Willy Paul is just using his artistic skills.
"An artist fills in missing musical parts in a song. Don't chastise Willy Paul yet; he is living to the literal meaning of an artist. By grinding girls, he is filling in the missing parts. Isn't this what many of us yearn for in music videos? Let Willy Paul's craft rise in peace!" tweeted Wycliffe Choge
Shenzie, in fact, questioned those criticizing Willy Paul yet his videos get more views.
"You love trolling Willy Paul when the truth is you line up on YouTube to watch his music in your blankets. Or where does he get 1M plus views month after month?" asked Shezie
Critics, however, wanted Willy Paul to take a stand with Edgar relating the situation with current political sides in the country.
"Just tell us where you belong... Is it kieleweke ama tangatanga??? willy paul" asked Edgar.
Bravin criticized the artist for using the gospel to get the money he uses now in secular.
"Willy Paul knows exactly how to stay Relevant in the music industry. He collected Sadaka in the gospel industry then Boom now he is dundaing and suguaing Ladies in clubs," said Bravin.
