A middle-aged man is currently being held at Gesonso police station for allegedly being part of a gang that raped, and killed his wife last week in Riana ward, Bonchari Sub County in Kisii County.
While confirming the arrest, area chief Edward Moenda said the suspect identified as Machoni was the one who lured the deceased Doris Ntabo from her home.
"The suspect had separated with the deceased 3 months ago but, he lured her from her home so that they can spend December holiday together. He planned for her rape and executed her killing," said the chief.
Moenda the man was jealous after the deceased revealed to him that she had already moved on with another man.
"The deceased revealed to the suspect her plans to get married to another man something that led Machoni to organize her killing. He is in custody to help with police officers in doing investigations," he noted.
The administrator said the suspect will not be released until justice is done to the deceased family.
The deceased woman was found raped, killed and her body dumped in a maize plantation.
