It is alleged that Kelvin Ogori has been quarrelling with his uncle John Oncheri for the last 8 months over a land dispute.

"Ogori stormed his uncle's bedroom armed with a metal rod which he used to beat him up, left him for dead and scampered for safety after neighbours rushed to the homestead to rescue Oncheri," noted a community policing official Isaac Omwenga.

Mr. Omwenga said neighbours rushed helpless Oncheri to hospital before the matter was reported to police.

"Police launched a manhunt for Ogori who noticed that he has been hunted down, he locked himself in his house and hanged self," noted Omwenga.

Area assistant chief Samuel Nyang'au said Ogori took his own life in fear of police arrest.

"Cases of land disputes are at the peak in the area. Ogori hanged self because he didn't want to be arrested by police after he assaulted his uncle who is currently receiving treatment at Hema hospital," he noted.

He called on elders to intervene and solve land-related disputes to curb unnecessary fights which may lead to death.
