Police in Nakuru have finally cornered a woman who killed her one-year-old son, wrapped him in a polythene bag and threw him at a dumpsite.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested in Kuresoi.

The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said Mercy Chepngeno strangled the baby boy on Saturday before stuffing his body in a plastic bag and disposed it off at the meteorological department staff quarters dumpsite in Kuresoi.

The DCI said Chepngeno confessed to the act.

“She confessed to strangling the child and dumping the body at the Staff Quarters’ dumpsite where she’d worked as a house help for a few days,” DCI said in a post on their official pages.

The suspect will be charged before Molo Law courts.
