ODM leader Raila Odinga will for the first time visit Migori after the arrest of area governor Okoth Obado.
Despite Obado being an ODM members, Mr. Odinga has remained tight lipped on his woes other than condemning the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
"I condemn with strongest terms possible the murder of Sharon. Police should investigate and bring killers into book," said Odinga, days before the county boss was directly linked to the murder.
At the Milimani Law Courts last week, hundreds of Obado's supporters accused Suna East MP Junet Mohammed and Raila of allegedly orchastrating the governor's ordeal.
In a phone call to Migori residents on Tuesday, Raila said he would tour the county on Thursday and Friday to wrap up campaigns for party's senatorial candidate Ochillo Ayacko.
"I will come on Thursday and Friday. This is a journey we should complete together," Odinga told supporters on Junet's phone.
His trip comes days after Governor Hassan Joho accused Obado and DP William Ruto of allegedly funding Federal Party candidate Eddie Oketch, whose popularity has blossomed in Kuria region within Migori.
Before his arrest, Mr. Obado had defied ODM party's choice of Ochillo Ayacko and had openly started campaigning for Oketch as the race to succeed Ben Oluoch intensified.
Raila visited the vast county, which has traditionally backed him, in June when Oluoch was being buried.
During the funeral, he reconciled Mr. Obado and Ayacko, a truce which however lawyer for few days.
The embattled governor, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend, was admitted to KNH on Wednesday after complaining it stomachache.
Monday's by-elections however, will give a true reflection of the two leaders, whose ideologies have clashed lately.
