Political Analyst Macharia Munene now says Siaya Senator James Orengo's latest remarks can be justified.
The Senator has been on the spotlight lately due to his controversial remarks, the latest one being his claim that he can easily impeach Deputy President William Ruto.
Even though the remarks have not gone down well with a good number of politicians, including his colleagues in the opposition, Munene now says that it is just a political tact.
According to the commentator, the lawmaker is out on a mission to regain opposition boss Raila Odinga's attention, which seems to be fading away.
He noted that Orengo seems worried about Raila's move to exclude him after his last year's truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, and is out to try and correct the situation.
"He is on a personal mission and hopes to push Raila along. The impeachment (of the DP) won’t go far as it is just a political statement," he told the Sunday Nation.
However, he rubbished any possibilities of there being some bad blood between the two, observing that Orengo wouldn't want to be on the bad side of Raila.
This he based on Raila's position as a political kingmaker in Luo Nyanza region, noting that Orengo is fully aware that such would land him on the receiving end in the future.
“Remember Orengo was later forced to pay homage to Raila for his own survival after staying in the cold for a while," he added.
This was with regards to their 2002 fallout that saw Orengo lose both his presidential seat and his Ugenya seat before reuniting with him ahead of the 2007 polls.
