President Uhuru Kenyatta, the party leader and his deputy William Ruto converged for the relaunch of the Rivatex factory, amid indications of a widening rift between them and their allies.

The former Subukia MP now says that Ruto's assurances to the president that himself (Ruto) and region remain behind him is a red flag that things are on the verge of breaking.

Speaking on Saturday, Wamwere opined that the move from the DP was aimed at covering up the visible cracks, considering that some of his allies have been viciously attacking Uhuru lately.

"Ruto insisted that you are our leader. All these assurances to the president were because of the claims of differences (Ruto alisisitiza eti wewe ndiye kiongozi wetu, haya yote alimhakikishia rais kwa sababu kimesemekana kuna tofauti)," he said on Radio Sauti Ya Mwananchi's Cheche show, Saturday evening.

However, Wamwere advised that the president should take that to mean that he has finally won in his bid to restore order in the party, especially on matters early politicking.

He said that though Uhuru might have come out with a thought that Ruto's group, which has been openly endorsing his 2022 bid, has finally decided to keep calm, that may not be the case.

"That was a sign of success in the president's calls against politicking, but it's possible that they will be back (Ile ni dalili ya ufaulu wa rais eti siasa ziache kufanywa, lakini kuna uwezekano zitarudi palepale)," noted the former legislator.

The early politicking debate on Sunday last week saw Uhuru fire shots at Ruto's allies, accusing them of spending most of their time insulting him in rallies instead of serving Kenyans.
