Mount Kenya residents have nothing to celebrate about President Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency, renowned economist David Ndii has observed.

The Kiambu-born political strategist claimed the Kikuyu community supported Uhuru and overwhelmingly voted for him expecting to benefit from his rule, but he has been a disappointment.

Speaking during an interview on KTN, Ndii alleged that the President was not concerned about the interests of his Mt Kenya people.

"I think what people are doing predominantly Kikuyu, is ascribing to Uhuru a mission he doesn't have. He has a mission for himself, his family, his business and the people he strikes deals with," he said during Point Blank show, Wednesday night.

Ndii made the remarks a few days after the Head of State rebuked Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro after he requested him for funds to refurbish a school in his constituency.

A visibly furious Uhuru said the young legislator shouldn't seek money from him but should instead show what he has done with the Sh100 million he has received from the exchequer in form of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The sentiments caused uproar among a section of Central Kenya residents with some accusing the Head of State of abandoning them in terms of development.

Commenting on the President's concerted efforts to fight corruption, the NASA strategist said it won't be won since it was spearheaded by individuals lacking leadership skills.

"The monster is not corruption but poor leadership. The people talking like that have failed to build the nation and what you are seeing is the blowback of ungovernability," Ndii said.
