Trade Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya has insisted that there is no plot to eliminate Deputy President William Ruto.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital on Tuesday, Munya said that the allegations are politically instigated.
He said that a section of leaders allied to the second in command wants to use the claims for their political gain.
Munya also told off MPs plotting his impeachment to go ahead terming them immature. The CS, who is also Former Meru Governor, asked detectives to reveal more details about the plans to end the DP’s life.
He asked how someone with several police officers can fear individuals with only police officer offering them security.
“If there was such a plan, a statement detailing the plan would have been out; how is going to be assassinated, by who… someone who has such heavy security his office is almost like a police station is going to be killed by Cabinet Secretaries who have one bodyguard each? That is just bad politics", he said, as quoted by Citizen.
Munya Joseph Mucheru (ICT) James Macharia (Transport) and Sicily Kariuki (Health) and have been linked to a plot to terminate the life of the DP Ruto before 2022. Ruto reportedly called DCI to discuss the matter before the CSs were arrested moments later.
The claims of the assassination plans have caused a storm in the Jubilee government.
