As soon as the National Police Service posted the IG’s photos on its official Twitter account, hawk-eyed netizens did not hold back from taunting the new police uniform.

While some taunted the uniform's oversized fitting and colours to be synonymous with Uganda, there are those who asked Boinnet hard questions after spotting luxurious stuff in his office.

In one of the photos, Boinnet is seen following live updates on a personal computer (PC) while the Apple-manufactured Macintosh was visibly seen.

The photo also captured a dozen bottled water in his office.

One tweep, Grammy asked the IG to ensure that the same digitization in his office is rolled out in all police stations across the country.

"Bwana IG, I like the computer in your office, could we've the same in our police station's! Can't we digitize their work too," while Wamabuku hilariously asked "why does the IG need such a powerful iMac, is he a graphics designer?"

David Nkyi tweeted: "A Mac in your office yet you have to buy an abstract at a police station. This is what makes his juniors misbehave.

The new police uniforms were launched in September by President Uhuru Kenyatta and will be fully adopted by the force on December 12, Jamhuri Day fete.

Speaking at the Kenya School of Government on September 13, Uhuru said the new uniforms for General Duty officers will "enhance visibility.

A majority of Kenyans have, however, ridiculed the new police uniforms saying the deep blue colour is "not appealing" at all.
