A Kenyan priest has been killed in neighbouring South Sudan.
Father Victor Luka Odhiambo of the Catholic Church was reportedly killed by armed men at the Mazzolari church compound in the capital of Gok state on Wednesday evening, according to officials.
Gok state Information Minister John Madol confirmed the murder, adding that the motive of the killing is yet to be established.
He added that one suspect has since been apprehended in line with the assault and murder of the priest.
"Yeah, one suspect was arrested this morning at 10 am, and he is now under police custody,” he is quoted by the Nation.
The suspect, according to Madol, has since agreed to reveal his colleagues in the crime as the police launch a search on the assailants.
This becomes the second incident of such nature after another cleric also met his death while serving in the war-torn nation last year.
Bishop Joel Mwendwa of Christ Ministry also met his death in the capital of Juba over allegations of making noise.
He was serving in Munuki suburbs of the city.
Father Odhiambo's body was moved to the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek on Thursday and is awaiting repatriation to the country before burial.
