Dan Mutungi who hails from Machakos County is now reaching out for help from wellwishers to return home and reconnect with his family.

According to a video shared on social media by one, Bancy Wairimu Mbui, who also filmed it, Mutungi says his father is alive but the mother died long ago.

"Mama alikufa lakini baba anaishi Kenya, Machakos (My mother died but father is alive. He lives in Machakos, Kenya)," Mutungi said.

Mutungi reveals in the video that he left the country to the UK back in the year 1992 and has never returned.

He says he has no place to sleep and has been spending nights in the streets while begging for food on daily basis.

One, Ms. Warimu says Mutungi begged her £10 which is approximately Sh1,295 but she didn't give him since she didn't have it.

However, it is not clear what made the young man leave the country for the UK.

It has not been established whether he went seeking for greener pasture or education.

The disparate Mutungi says he lost his passport and other travel documents.

"This guy is a Kenyan based in the UK, Luton to be specific. I cry to Uhuru and his government to help him to go back home as he’s living on the street begging, it’s really sad," Wairimu posted on her Facebook page on Thursday.
