The match, which was played at IshinIshin Me-Life Stadium ended 2-1 in favor of Kashiwa.

Olunga started the match on the bench and did not feature at all, with Brazilian striker Christano scoring both goals for Olunga’s side.

The 32-year-ol scored in the 39th and 79th minute after Japanese midfielder Ryohei Yoshihama had put Yamaguchi ahead in the 8th minute.

Olunga, who will be tuning 25 on March 26, recently returned from an injury he suffered towards the end of last year.

The former Girona, Guizhou Zhicheng, Djurgårdens IF, Gor Mahia, Thika United and Tusker FC striker has been training with his side since February 10th, and that may be a reason as to why he did not feature in the match.

Kashiwa was relegated from the Japanese top flight league, known as the –J League last year.

Olunga is highly expected to be in action on March 02, 2019, when his side takes on Machida in the second game of the new season.
