In a tweet on Friday afternoon, the controversial lawyer decried Kenyan's struggles for something many of them might never use.

"They are queuing to pay thousands of shillings each to get a document most of them will not need because they won't even travel to Wajir. They don't even know that one does not need a passport to travel within the East African Community. They are just scared of despots. Shame!" he said.

Miguna was reacted to long queues witnessed at Nyayo House in Nairobi on Friday morning. By 3.30am, people had already queued outside Nyayo House waiting for the gates to be opened.

Surprisingly, the gates are opened at 6.00am, where service delivery starts at 8.00am, the opening time of all government offices.

This process is expected to be closed on August 31, 2019. Kenyans already took to social media expressing their dissatisfaction with the process as some of them wait for hours before being served.

“It is 0340h in the morning. There are more than 300 people already at Nyayo House. This government is a joke,” said a Kenyan only identified as Curtis as quoted by Nation.

“When I discovered it would take months of queuing at Nyayo House and never get immigration services, I decided to tour Kisumu City and make my replacement from there,” said James Mutinda.
