Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has come out to defend himself after claims that he is among Rift Valley legislators who wish for a 'divorce' in the ruling Jubilee party.
Through a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Sudi insisted that the people from Mt. Kenya have no debt concerning the 2022 politics.
This after growing fears that the Mt. Kenya region might betray Deputy President William Ruto who is widely seen as a front-runner in succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"To clear the air on false allegations being associated with me, am saying this for the10th time Ndugu/Dada zetu kutoka Mt Kenya hawana deni ya No. 2 lakini wako na upendo kubwa sana kwa Deputy President wa Kenya," posted Sud, a close ally of DP Ruto.
There has been tension in Jubilee party which have been triggered by President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive that all public Servants in the country would undergo lifestyle audit starting from himself, DP Ruto down to governors and Cabinet secretaries.
However, most of Rift Valley legislators came out and claimed that it was targeted to an individual, DP Ruto, to sabotage his 2022 presidential bid.
This has lead to perceived division in the ruling party even further after some Mt. Kenya leaders led by Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu claimed that Ruto's support from Mt. Kenya region was not guaranteed and they had many issues to revisit.
It is reported that President Kenyatta and DP Ruto on Friday held a crisis meeting which has been seen as to cool the tension among Jubilee legislators and they are expected to address many issues including the fight against corruption and contraband sugar among others.
