Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi has insisted that he will be in the race for the Statehouse in the 2022 general elections.
Speaking on Thursday, the former Vice President, however, revealed that he is yet to settle on the person he will pick as his running mate in the race.
This comes six years after his first bid in the 2013 elections, where he ran alongside Ndaragua MP Jeremiah Kioni as his running mate, in a race where he emerged a distant third.
On Thursday, he hinted that he will only go for a person with integrity, saying that Kenya still has a good number of honest persons, and he will be going for one of those to back him.
"Majority ya wakenya sio wafisadi, kuna wakenya wengi wasio wafisadi, na running mate wangu atatoka hapo (majority of Kenyans are not corrupt, there are many Kenyans with integrity and my running mate will come from there)," he said.
The leader who also served as the Deputy Vice President in the Grand Coalition Government between 2008 and 2013 was speaking on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen.
He further rubbished claims that he is being fronted by more powerful politicians with an intention of blocking Deputy President William Ruto from ascending to the seat.
Mudavadi insisted that he is as well not awaiting any endorsement, saying that he is ready to push his way to the presidency.
"Mimi niko serious, singoji kupewa na pia si project ya mtu. Mimi ni project ya wakenya (I am serious and I am not waiting to be given. I am not anyone's project but Kenyans'')," he noted.
