The head of State, who is completing his second and final term in power, inspected containers with seized goods into the country.

The President was accompanied by Interior CS Matiang’I and his Principal Secretary Kibicho Karanja.

“President Kenyatta made an impromptu visit to the Embakasi ICD where seized containers are being stored. The visit was prompted by complaints by traders whose goods have been confiscated. He was accompanied by CS Matiang’i, PS Kibicho and heads of the multi-agency task force,”  State House tweeted.

The president has remained vigilant in the war against corruption before he leaves power in 2022.  The impromptu visit comes at a time when Kenyans are waiting for answers to the fake gold scandal.

Uhuru and Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga’s names have been dragged into the saga after an audio recording of a conversation between the Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, also Ford Kenya leader with a man believed to be behind the trade from UAE Leaked to the public domain.

Reports also emerged that Uhuru and Raila met Dubai royal ruler over the fake gold export saga.

Wetangula, who had travelled out of the country has since jetted back.
