President Uhuru Kenyatta’s lawyer Fred Ngatia is the best legal practitioner in the field of dispute resolution in Kenya, a report on the audit of law firms in the country has revealed.
Ngatia, who made has been representing Uhuru in landmark cases including the 2017 General Election Presidential Petition by ODM Leader Raila Odinga at the Supreme Court, beat several heavyweights in the law industry to emerge at the top, reports Daily Nation.
The firm, which conducts research and ranks best lawyers in over 180 countries, acknowledged Ngatia’s knowledge and experience in handling public cases.
“Top litigator Fred Ngatia of Ngatia & Associates is considered a heavy-hitter and the go-to guy when you want to get things done,” read part of the report from the global firm, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The report indicated that Ngatia has been presenting brilliant legal arguments in court. It also recorded that he has handled several commercial cases that attracted the interest of the general public.
Other law firms in the first band, whose performance was impressive were Senior Counsels Fred Ojiambo, George Oraro and Kenneth Fraser.
The firm also recognized lawyers Mr Njoroge Regeru¸ Mr Chacha Odera, Mr James Ochieng, Mr John Ohaga and Kiragu Kimani.
The band two of law firms in Kenya that stood out in dispute resolutions comprises of Former Attorney-General Prof Githu Muigai, the current Law Society of Kenya President Allen Gichuhi Maema (IKM) law firm and Kamau Karori of Iseme, Kamau law firm.
The others in the second band were Mr Michi Kirimi Mr Peter Gachuhi, Mr Walter Amoko, Mr Nazima Malik Mr Waweru Gatonye, and Mr Mohammed Nyaoga.
