On March , 2016, a Moi University student was stabbed 8 times to death as a result of a love triangle altercation with his partner. This is just one of the many incidences that have been reported.

The students at the Kesses-based University can therefore directly relate to the murder of Celebrated Kenyan actor Jamaal Nasoor who was stabbed by his lover during an argument.

It is in this connection that the students not only expressed their condolences but also offered some of the tricks that can be used to avert such incidences.

David Koech, a third year student in the School of Arts and Social Sciences believes that understanding one another in a relationship is extremely crucial.

"You should understand your partner's personality especially in terms of anger management. If he or she is the type who gets angry easily, then try as much as possible to avoid arguments," Koech explained.

For Blessing Kibaba, seeking psychological counselling is a necessity.

"Whenever you are experiencing problems with your partner, it is prudent to to consult a counselor. People who end up killing their partners have psychological problems which can only be identified by an expert," Kibaba commented.

Diana Moraa finally insists that the only way of avoiding such incidences is by not tolerating toxic relationships.

"If you ever feel like you are in a wrong relationship, or suspect your partner of something, then leave that relationship before it is too late. Before someone makes the move to kill, he or she would have at least shown signs," Moraa noted.

It is indeed sad when promising lives like those of Nasoor are brought to end by disagreements in a relationship.
