Seven legislators walked out of Uhuru's function, accusing organisers of deliberately blocking them from addressing the function.

But Ngunjiri, a staunch supporter of Uhuru said: "That these MPs think they can force Uhuru to politic; something he has said he will not do; to his face; in public; is noteworthy. DP Ruto doesn’t say anything about what’s clear disrespect to the Head of State by his troops."

"The next day they walk out on Uhuru at another function. They say it’s against Governor Laboso. But its not Laboso’s function. It is Uhuru’s," he added.

Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso insisted that the presidential schedule was tight thus the decision to block MPs from addressing the gathering.

But a source from Bomet County claims that the president was keen to avoid Mau Forest evictions that intelligence reports had shown would dominate the event.

"Of course other than the usual rhetoric about Ruto's 2022 bid, which Uhuru is not ready to speak about, Uhuru was aware of Mau Forest eviction politics. That's why his handlers had to make the decision."
