Up to six people have perished after a matatu they were travelling in collided with a lorry along the Lanet-Ol Kalou road.

It is not yet clear what caused the Wednesday afternnon accident.

The five were aboard a 3N-to-Sacco nissan matatu heading to Nakuru.

"Others were injured and rushed to hospital," a witness said.

Police have confirmed the incident.
