Associated Press which is a media firm based in the United States ended up on the receiving end with Kenyans accusing its online staff of bad taste in reporting.

The media's coverage omitted African countries in a tweet they posted regarding the nationality of those who perished during the tragic Ethiopian plane crash

"BREAKING: Authorities say Canadians, Chinese, Americans, Italians, Indians, French, British, Egyptians among those killed in Ethiopian plane crash," the tweet read.

A number of Kenyans who were angered by the tweet termed it racist and calling for an apology from the media firm.

Critics said the tweet was a clear indication that racism was still rife in international agencies.

Some have argued that the tweet was intended to show the superiority of whites over black people even in death.
