Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, Cherargei said Uhuru's resolve to fight corruption is a noble initiative.

"The fight against corruption is very important and we support the President, the onus is on the investigative agencies to ensure they bring watertight cases so that at the end of the day we can have convictions," remarked the Nandi Senator.

The legislator further called for a shift, from unearthing to preventing corruption in order to avert more cases from occurring, adding that those found engaging in graft should be heavily punished.

"Anybody who has been found to be involved in corruption be punished. We should move from detection to deterring people," he added. Cherargei

The vocal senator was amongst DP Ruto's allies who initially read malice in the fight against graft, saying it was carried out for political expediency.
